Penetration test cost: what drives the price, and our published prices.
The price of a penetration test depends on four things: what is tested, the share of work done by hand, the level of detail in the report and the support after the test. Ryze Cyber publishes its prices: EUR 490 for an external scan, EUR 1,490 for a full audit, EUR 3,900 for a full audit extended to AI tools, excluding tax. The amounts are the same in Swiss francs.
How much does a penetration test cost at Ryze Cyber?
Three Red Team plans, for a one-off engagement. Every test starts after an authorisation contract has been signed, setting the scope and the dates.

What makes the price of a penetration test vary?
The gap between EUR 490 and EUR 3,900 is not arbitrary. It follows four factors, which you will find in any provider's quote.
- The scope. A brochure website, a client area, accounts, an infrastructure, AI assistants: the more doors there are to test, the more work there is. This is the first item in the price.
- The share of manual work. An automated survey of what is visible from the internet costs less than a test carried out by a person who tries to chain weaknesses together. This is what separates the external scan from the full audit.
- The level of detail in the report. A prioritised summary takes less time than a detailed report in which each flaw comes with its proof, its severity and its fix.
- The support. Spoken debrief, help with fixes, retest after the fixes: each added step has a cost. Always ask what is included.
What the published prices do not say
A published price does not replace a quote. Four points should be set out in writing:
- Taxes. The prices are published excluding tax.
- Currency. The amounts are the same in euros and in Swiss francs: EUR for France, Belgium, Germany and Austria, CHF for Switzerland.
- The retest. The website does not say whether a new check after the fixes is included in the price. Ask the question.
- The subscription period. For the Blue Team, the website advertises a monthly subscription and mentions no minimum term. Have it specified.
Does a test cost less than a business interruption?
The calculator on the home page does a deliberately simple sum: annual revenue, divided by 220 working days, multiplied by the number of days of downtime. It counts neither the recovery work, nor lost clients, nor reputation.
Worked example. A company with annual revenue of EUR 1,000,000 that stops for 5 days loses at least 1,000,000 ÷ 220 × 5, about EUR 22,700 in revenue. That is a little over 15 times the published price of a full audit (EUR 1,490). This is not a statistic: it is simple proportion, to be redone with your own figures.
How do you compare two penetration test quotes?
Two quotes can only be compared if they describe the same thing. Check six lines:
- Is the scope written down, with what is excluded?
- How much of the work is automated, and how much is manual?
- Does the report give the proof, the severity and the fix for each flaw?
- Is a spoken debrief included?
- Is a retest after the fixes included?
- Is the price written down before the start, and in which currency?
